Today is our last biking day. Justin drove us so that we could have a relaxing morning with him instead of doing 50 miles :) We biked 25 miles from Hastings to Darren's house and we gloriously arrived when half of the family was there in the driveway! Except... we had to hop down and walk the last few yards due to the high slope!! Not flattering, but everybody clapped :)
Abbiamo dedicato gli ultimi giorni ai familiari, che abitano quasi tutti nei pressi di Marshall, una bella cittadina vicino a Trilakes.
It was great to see our wonderful nephews again, and we enjoyed spending time with the family. Anna could finally see hummingbirds, with the family members trying to share the excitement (once they realised there are no hummingbids in Europe, everybody understood the importance of the moment!).
We had a nice dinner and said bye to Willow and Sage. Then, we saw a funny movie with Lane and Luke, enjoying some popsicles, and went to bed.
Gita in kayak in uno dei laghetti di Trilakes. Jay sta osservando una famiglia di gru.
The next day, Darren brought bikes and bikers to Trilakes to join another small family reunion. For the last part of the trip we stayed at the campground with Brenda and Dave, and got treated with visits from the family. It was great! Jay grew up around here, and it is always amazing to go back to the roots. We got to eat a lot, walk around the lakes, kayak, and enjoy ourselves before saying goodbye to everybody until next time.
Il piatto forte di una delle nostre abbuffate nasconde la bandiera americana del piatto da portata.
We are getting close to our return back to Europe, and it feels like it is still so far away! We need to start packing, and summing up our bird-biking efforts.
How many miles did we bike in total?
Will Anna manage to get her bird count up in the last couple of days?
